Personal Goals Review

People, Knowledge & Respect

As professional consultants who provide expert analysis and advice to clients, Schooley Mitchell Franchisees have the incredible opportunity to build strong reputations in their communities while developing themselves both professionally and personally. Our Franchisees fundamentally help businesses and organizations save money – what’s not to love about that? Our Franchisees are also constantly expanding their skill and knowledge base to keep up with business trends and innovations. And much like lawyers, accountants or engineers, Schooley Mitchell Franchisees gain respect throughout their communities and networks through the expertise they provide.

13) Help Other People

This particular goal might seem a bit vague, but most of us are driven by the desire to help those around us. At Schooley Mitchell, our business model itself is driven by this very characteristic.

The phrase “win-win” is tired and overused in the business world today, and yet it is very appropriate in our case. The entire purpose of our business is to increase our clients’ profits by reducing their expenses. That’s how and why we get paid – because we have helped them in their day-to-day business.

A Schooley Mitchell Franchisee once said that he makes it clear to his clients that “we can’t win if you don’t win first.” This extends one step further – we can’t win at Schooley Mitchell unless our Franchisees win first. We don’t sell our Franchisees hamburger meat, cups, straws or muffler parts. Our entire business model is driven by our royalties.

So we really are in a win-win-win scenario and we are all driven to ultimately help our clients. After all, they pay for everything – but only out of the savings we deliver to them.

14) Expand Skills & Knowledge

Rarely does a day go by where there isn’t something new to learn in our world. Whether it’s learning to be a better business person, a better professional or a better entrepreneur, the ability to learn in the Schooley Mitchell system is always front and center.

Whether it’s in the changing world of the industries we consult to – including telecom, merchant services, courier or waste – or the next service areas we expand to, the learning is always at our fingertips. We are continually growing and increasing our knowledge levels in all areas of our business. However, we do make that learning enjoyable, interactive and collaborative.

We facilitate knowledge transfer in many ways and each Franchisee determines how much they wish to learn in any area. Certainly, the initial training course is the starting point. Most Franchisees will indicate that the best source of knowledge is through their interactions with our great network of other Franchisees. We are a very collaborative group and that is one of our key strengths.

In addition, we provide knowledge and training to Franchisees through various facilities, including our Quick Start program, our Distance Learning system, our monthly webinars, our annual conference and our comprehensive libraries of information in The Warehouse.

15) Gain Community Respect Through My Business

Professionals garner a certain respect in the community because of the services they deliver to other businesses and the knowledge they require to do so properly.

We are very much like an accountant or a lawyer in that we consult to business clients to help them increase their profits, maintain their assets and save them time in doing so. We don’t consult about tax or law like an accountant or lawyer, of course – instead, we help our clients in the fields of telecommunications, merchant services, courier and waste.

We interact with other professionals in our communities, we deliver similar services and we help other business people improve their organizations. That process certainly garners that same type of respect enjoyed by other professionals in our communities.
